According to the United Nations report in 2006, the world population will likely increase by 2.5 billion over the next 40 years, passing from the current 6.7 billion today to 9.2 billion by 2050. This reality stands to have drastic impacts on food production, fuel consumption, waste management, climate control, and air and water cleanliness. Students will participate in educational visits with members of the community who are making impactful decisions in their businesses and personal lives that stand to reduce the impacts on the environment.
