Wilderness Adventure

Valley View offers seasonal day hikes as well as overnight group camping trips to wilderness areas throughout New England and New York. Examples include canoe trips on the Connecticut River, camping in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York, and backpacking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Our wilderness adventures include a service-learning project with park rangers where students are involved in community service work in exchange for education on subjects such as land management, environmental issues, wildlife, and regional wilderness history. The trips include a summit experience and other geographical wilderness features such as mountain lakes, gorges, meadows, and forests. Valley View students are challenged on a number of areas including self-care, time management, group decision making, communication, perseverance, and patience.

Valley View is situated on 215
acres of forests and rolling hills in
the heart of New England just 75
miles outside of Boston.
