Residential Counselor

Brittany Salmon joined Valley View School in June 2024 as a Residential Counselor, bringing a diverse professional background and a strong commitment to supporting students. She is drawn to this work through both her education in behavioral health and her personal experiences, and she values the opportunity to help others in meaningful and practical ways.

Brittany holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Behavioral Health Sciences from York County Community College in Wells, Maine. She also holds a Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician certificate and is a Certified Victim Advocate. Her professional experience includes work as a Program Monitor at the Worcester County House of Correction, where she supported individuals transitioning back into the community following incarceration. She has also worked in a credit union fraud department, as well as in supervisory and management roles within the hospitality and food service industries. These varied experiences have strengthened her leadership, communication, and problem solving skills.

At Valley View, Brittany brings this broad perspective into her residential work, supporting students with patience, consistency, and care. She also shares her lifelong passion for photography with the school community. In addition to running her own photography business, she enjoys capturing sports, school events, and creative photo sessions with students.

Originally born in Massachusetts and raised in Maine, Brittany returned to Massachusetts in 2021. Outside of work, she enjoys a quieter life with her two cats, listening to music, and growing her vinyl record collection. Her interest in music often finds its way into student activities, adding another avenue for connection and engagement.
