Summer Programming
A Season of
Growth, Connection,
and Discovery
Valley View’s summer program creates an active, supportive environment where students explore new interests, build friendships, and experience meaningful personal growth. The summer months offer a rich mix of outdoor recreation, cultural enrichment, creative expression, and community engagement. Activities are designed to spark curiosity, encourage participation, and help students stretch in healthy and positive ways.
Light Academics with Lasting Impact
While less intensive than the school year, summer includes academic components that focus on credit recovery, preventing regression and supporting academic progress while inviting opportunities for hands-on learning and the development of natural curiosity.
Students:
Participate in a one-credit elective
Engage in daily reading, with a goal of completing two books and Advanced Reader tests over summer
Complete targeted math work if remediation or credit recovery is needed, keeping them engaged in math to prevent regression
Learn by Doing, Grow by Exploring
The full arc of the program gives students space to try new things, bond with peers, and build confidence through shared experiences. With a balance of recreation, learning, service, and community involvement, summer at Valley View offers a vibrant blend of activities that meet students where they are and help them move forward with purpose. Summer days balance academics with physical activity, creativity, and outdoor learning.
