Student Life
Life Outside the Classroom
Living, Learning, and Growing Together
At Valley View, student life extends beyond academics and therapy sessions. It is the everyday environment where boys develop social skills, manage responsibilities, form friendships, and navigate real situations with steady guidance.
Students live in dorms, follow campus routines, join teams, take part in service, and try new creative pursuits. Shared meals, projects, outdoor activities, and games provide the setting where maturity develops, and boys rediscover a sense of belonging.
See how living and learning come together:
A Structured and Supportive Campus Life

Each day combines routine with discovery. Student life programming includes:

● Evening and weekend activities on and off campus
● Community service projects and events
● Arts, music, and theater opportunities
● Athletics and intramural games
● Optional international travel for eligible student
These experiences give students the chance to practice social skills, take pride in their efforts, and discover interests they may not have explored before.
Responsibility, Belonging, and Daily Practice
We provide an active campus where students can:
● Navigate friendships that feel supportive and genuine
● Learn to live respectfully with others
● Practice accountability in small and large ways
● Take part in service and leadership opportunities
● Step into new activities that stretch their comfort zone
● Receive feedback and encouragement in real time
The rhythms of campus life help students strengthen organization, regulation, and follow-through in ways that carry into life after Valley View.
DORM LIFE
Dorm Life that Builds Connection and Responsibility
Dorm living is central to the Valley View experience. Each dorm is staffed by adults who build relationships, guide routines, and provide consistent presence.
Residential staff do more than supervise. Using a relationship-based approach, they engage directly with students, reinforce expectations, and coach through peer dynamics, offering encouragement throughout the day and night.
Each dorm includes a mix of single and double rooms. Most students will have their own room for part of their enrollment, while also learning how to share space with others.
DORM LIFE
Daily Structure that Helps Build Healthy Habits
Students follow predictable routines that encourage accountability and balance. Residential staff are present day and night, supporting students in all aspects of daily living.
Dorm life includes:
● Morning and evening routines
● Daily room checks and organization
● Shared meals with staff
● Study hall and reading time
● Supervised downtime and recreation
● Overnight safety and support from awake overnight staff
