Carol Goodrow, M.Ed.
Learning Specialist & Special Education Coordinator
With over four decades of experience in education, Carol Goodrow is a dedicated advocate for students who learn differently. She holds a Bachelor of Science, a Master’s in Education with certification in Special Education, a Sixth-Year Diploma in Special Education, and is certified in both Orton-Gillingham and Wilson Reading programs.
Carol’s career began in Connecticut, where she spent 38 years teaching and writing specialized programs in spelling and math for her school district. Her passion for teaching students with dyslexia was sparked during her Orton-Gillingham practicum with the late Alice Garside, whose mentorship inspired her lifelong commitment to literacy education.
At Valley View, Carol supports students through individualized instruction in math and English, weaving multi-sensory techniques into her lessons. She also serves as a tutor, interventionist, and disability assessor, providing targeted help wherever it is needed. Known for her creative energy and love of Shakespeare, Carol brings learning to life, often incorporating theater and literature to make complex material engaging and accessible.
Outside of the classroom, Carol enjoys fitness dance, spinning, knitting, and cross-stitching, all of which she shares with students as part of her belief in the joy of lifelong learning.
