Jim Haupt, MA
Clinical Director
Jim brings over twenty-five years of experience in therapeutic and educational settings to his role as Clinical Coordinator at Valley View School. In this capacity, he collaborates with clinicians, residential staff, and teachers to ensure the emotional, social, and academic well-being of students. With nearly two decades of dedication to Valley View, Jim has become a cornerstone of the school community.
Jim is also advancing his own professional growth: he is currently pursuing a second master’s degree that will allow for clinical licensure, as he works toward his goal of becoming Valley View’s Clinical Director.
Beyond his clinical leadership, Jim enriches student life through his passion for experiential learning and global exploration. He has organized and led more than a dozen international trips with Valley View students, offering them the opportunity to grow through cultural immersion and adventure. A recent highlight was guiding students along the historic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
On campus, Jim also oversees the makerspace, where he engages students in hands-on learning experiences that build problem-solving skills, frustration tolerance, and resilience—all thoughtfully tied back to a clinical framework.
Jim holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Anna Maria College and is deeply committed to helping young people develop both emotionally and academically. Outside of Valley View, he is a proud father of two, balancing his professional life with his devotion to family.
